Overview
Your business depends on safe and healthy employees. Preventing workplace injuries and illnesses is key to a healthy workforce, positively affects your bottom line and should be a component of your strategy. Our attorneys work with you to put in place preventative measures, such as best practices, safety plans, and guidance on regulatory compliance and responding to workplace hazards, to reduce risk exposure. We work with state-funded employers with a variety of issues, including premium rates and non-compliance. We also work with many employers to obtain and/or maintain self-insured privileges with Ohio.
Should your business encounter a workplace injury or occupational disease, we have experience representing employers in all phases of the workers’ compensation process and can be your GPS in a system whose routes are not always well-marked. Our attorneys represent clients in navigating claim issues with the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) and in hearings before the Industrial Commission of Ohio, and subsequent appeals to common pleas courts. We also routinely handle mandamus actions and represent employers in claims for violations of specific safety requirements (“VSSR claims”).
Our attorneys routinely collaborate with employer groups, as well as industry organizations and economic associations to recommend and provide input into proposed legislation and agency regulations. We also keep you informed on the latest workers compensation regulations, laws and issues by providing seminars, conducting onsite training and publishing updates and articles on the Firm’s web site.
Whether our assistance is proactive or in response to a matter, we believe in communicating with you throughout our involvement, and are responsive to your needs. Our goal is to produce results that are timely, cost effective and make the most sense for your business.
Should you have questions or a workers’ compensation claim, our attorneys would welcome the opportunity to be of service.
