Located in downtown Detroit is Eastman & Smith's Michigan office. Fifteen of Eastman & Smith's attorneys are admitted to practice in Michigan and several are based in Detroit. These attorneys practice in a number of legal areas including corporate, commercial, employment, labor, environmental, estate planning, immigration, public and school law, and litigation.
Detroit is resurging, in large part due to new entrepreneurial investment and the growth of the US automotive industry. General Motors, Ford and Stellantis have headquarters in the area, and many automotive suppliers have operations in the region. Other industries found in Detroit include information technology and health care. Entertainment encompasses sports with the professional football, hockey and baseball teams; one of the country's largest art museums; multiple live music as well as theater, opera and symphony venues.
