Dixon and Urrutia Panelists at UTFBC Virtual Roundtable

4/6/20

Thomas A. Dixon and Carrie L. Urrutia, members of Eastman & Smith, were panelists in a virtual roundtable “Understanding the HR Implications of COVID-19.”  They, along with several other panelists, addressed issues arising from new laws instituted due to the COVID-19.

Ms. Urrutia’s practice includes counseling on employment policies and handbooks, training, representing employers in administrative proceedings, defending against discrimination claims and providing guidance on a host of employment law issues.  Mr. Dixon counsels clients on virtually every facet of their businesses as employment matters directly impact every aspect of an organization.  This includes recruiting, hiring, compensating, training, evaluating, promoting, disciplining or terminating employees.  The session can be viewed on YouTube.

The University of Toledo Family Business Center focuses on understanding and assisting family-owned businesses.  Membership is comprised of family-owned companies in multiple industries including manufacturing, construction, telecommunications, retail and professional services.  For more information, please visit  their web site.
