Gregg and Johnson Victorious in WC Case

11/10/10

Joseph A. Gregg and Richard L. Johnson recently represented a national food manufacturer in a workers' compensation matter in Lucas County Common Pleas Court. The plaintiff in the case alleged she sustained injuries to her back, elbow, knee and ribs when the object she was seated upon slipped out from under her. After several months of physical therapy and chiropractic treatment, the plaintiff requested additional allowances for other injuries. The Industrial Commission denied the request on the basis these injuries could not be attributed to the original incident and the plaintiff appealed into court. After a two day trial the jury rendered an 8-0 verdict for the defense after only 45 minutes of deliberations.

Mr. Gregg regularly represents Ohio employers in appeals of workers' compensation cases filed in state court from underlying administrative decisions.  Mr. Johnson concentrates his practice in the area of workers' compensation defense and represents both large and small employers before the Industrial Commission and all levels of Ohio court.
