New Members Elected to Firm
The following associates have been elected to membership at Eastman & Smith Ltd.
David W. Carter concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning; probate and trust administration; estate, gift and income taxation; and business succession planning. Prior to joining Eastman, Mr. Carter worked as a trust officer for a large financial institution. He is a graduate of the University of Toledo and the Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
Scott A. Johnson represents clients in transactional real estate and general business matters, and real estate related litigation. Mr. Johnson was employed by a law firm in Atlanta, Georgia, and maintains his admission to practice law in that state. He serves on the Toledo Zoo's Development Committee, Caring Friends of Toledo Children's Hospital's Danberry Treasure Chest Funding Committee and is the Secretary of the Toledo Bar Association Real Estate Committee. Mr. Johnson is a graduate of the University of Toledo College of Law.
Lynn Vuketich Luther's practice focuses on representing employers against claims of discrimination, wage and hour violations, and defending OSHA, EEOC, workers' compensation, and other administrative claims. She also has represented employers in claims involving trade secret misappropriation and the enforcement of post-employment restrictive covenants. She is licensed to practice law in Ohio and Michigan. While working on her law degree from the University of Toledo, Ms. Luther was published in their law review.
Sarah E. Pawlicki advises human resource professionals in all areas of labor and employment law. She also represents employers in employment discrimination and workers' compensation matters before administrative agencies and Ohio state and federal courts. She has received her Senior Professional in Human Resources certification from the HR Certification Institute, is a graduate of the University of Toledo law school and earned her bachelor's degree in diplomacy and foreign affairs from Miami University.
Maria Limbert Markakis focuses her practice in the areas of general education law, special education law and related litigation. She is a graduate of The Ohio State University, earning her law degree there. She is an adjunct professor at the University of Toledo College of Law.
Rene L. Rimelspach is based in our Columbus office, where she concentrates her practice in the areas of environmental, public and employment law. She was recently awarded the Ohio State Bar Foundation's 2011 Community Service Award for Attorneys 40 & Under. Ms. Rimelspach is a graduate of and former adjunct professor of appellate advocacy at The Ohio State University College of Law, and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame.
