Eastman & Smith Opens New Findlay Office

The attorneys of Eastman & Smith Ltd. are pleased to announce the opening of their new Findlay office at 510 South Main Street in downtown Findlay. The Findlay office has expanded over the past five years to now include five attorneys:

John H. Koehler is a member in the Firm's Wealth Preservation section. His practice focuses on the areas of wills, trusts, business planning and tax planning; he also has experience in the areas of probate and estate administration matters and charitable tax planning. He has practiced in Findlay since 1983 and is a graduate of the University of Findlay and the University of Toledo College of Law.

Thomas P. Kemp is a member in the Firm's Litigation section where his practice focuses on commercial law and civil litigation. Prior to joining Eastman & Smith Ltd., Kemp practiced in Findlay since 1978 with the Findlay law firm, Firmin, Sprague & Huffman Co., L.P.A. He received his undergraduate and legal education from the University of Notre Dame. Mr. Kemp is a former member and chair of the Hancock County Board of Elections; he has served as a member of the Findlay Civil Service Commission since 2004 and served as chair from 2005-2006. Mr. Kemp is an active community volunteer and has served in leadership positions for a number of community organizations, including: the Hancock County Law Library Resources Board, Findlay Noon Optimist Club, Children's Mentoring Connection, Children's Mentoring Foundation, Knights of Columbus, and Hancock Leadership Alumni Association.

Stephen A. Roepke is a member in the Firm's Business section. Mr. Roepke's principal areas of focus are organizations/corporate law, real estate development, corporate/real estate litigation and wealth preservation. Prior to joining Eastman & Smith Ltd., Roepke practiced in Findlay since 1981 with the Findlay law firm, Firmin, Sprague & Huffman Co., L.P.A. He is a graduate of Bowling Green State University and a law graduate of Duke University. Mr. Roepke is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Findlay-Hancock County Bar Association where he currently serves as Chair of the Grievance Committee. Mr. Roepke is the president of the Findlay Downtown Area Association, a member of Greater Findlay Inc.'s Economic Development Council and a former member of the Findlay City Council.

Patrick A. Sadowski is an associate in the Firm's Wealth Preservation section. While his current practice focuses on estate planning and administration, probate, and non-profit formation and taxation, he has experience in business transactions, civil litigation, and post-judgment collections. Mr. Sadowski graduated from the University of Toledo in 2002 with a bachelor of science degree, double-majoring in physics and mathematics, with concentrations in astrophysics and pure mathematics, and he received his law degree from the University of Toledo College of Law in 2005. Mr. Sadowski is active member of the Findlay community and serves as the Vice-Chair of the Hancock County Chapter of the American Red Cross and Vice-President of the University of Toledo Natural Sciences and Mathematics Alumni Affiliate. He also serves on the boards of the Children's Mentoring Connection, Life-Span Neuro-Developmental Therapy, Safe Ride Home, and the Toledo Regional Board of the American Red Cross, and is a member of Findlay Kiwanis and the Hancock Leadership Alumni Association.

Shawn M. Turner is an associate in the Firm's Business section. Mr. Turner focuses his practice on corporate law, including state and federal securities law and general corporate governance and compliance issues, as well as transactional and other general commercial matters. Mr. Turner received his B.A. in economics from Hanover College, Hanover, Indiana, his J.D. from the Case Western Reserve University School of Law, and his M.B.A from Case Western's Weatherhead School of Management, in 2004. Prior to joining Eastman & Smith Ltd., Mr. Turner worked in the Denver, Colorado office of Washington, D.C.-based Patton Boggs LLP.
