Cannabis Business Executive Quotes Scott Johnson on Rollout of Recreational Marijuana in Ohio
Scott A. Johnson, a member of Eastman & Smith's Cannabis and Hemp Industry Group, was quoted throughout a November 9 article in Cannabis Business Executive titled “Ohio Approves Adult-Use, The Legislative Clock Starts Ticking Today." The article covered a citizens’ initiative that Ohio voters approved on November 7 legalizing recreational marijuana usage by adults in the state.
In the article, Johnson said that the measure contains a number of deadlines that must be met before sales of recreational marijuana can begin. He cautioned that since Ohio operates a state-run system for liquor sales and heavily regulates medical marijuana, he expects the same approach will be adopted for recreational marijuana, unlike states like Michigan.
