Linsday Rich Steinmetz Receives Award from EPA

1/16/24

Lindsay Rich Steinmetz, an associate with Eastman & Smith, received the Bronze Medal from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for work she did while in their employ.  It is classified as a Formal Honor Award.  Those eligible for the Bronze Medal have undertaken “significant acts and achievements which materially aid or affect the successful accomplishment of the Agency mission or serve the public interest.”

The award was given for work Ms. Rich Steinmetz and her team undertook to reduce hazardous air pollutant emissions.  Ultimately, the EPA was able to reach a settlement with a chemical facility that requires the facility to reduce its hazardous emissions by over five tons a year.  Emissions are one aspect governed by the Clean Air Act.

While with the EPA, Ms. Rich Steinmetz handled an administrative and judicial litigation caseload of enforcement actions under the Clean Air Act and its associated regulations. At Eastman & Smith, Ms. Rich Steinmetz concentrates her practice on environmental and real estate related matters.

The Firm congratulates Ms. Rich Steinmetz on this award.
