Eastman & Smith Ltd. Names New Members
Eastman & Smith Ltd., has elected two attorneys as members of the Firm: Fadi V. Nahhas and Joseph R. Durham.
Fadi V. Nahhas is an attorney in the Business Section of Eastman & Smith Ltd., concentrating his practice in the areas of immigration, commercial transactions and corporate law. Prior to his admission to practice, Mr. Nahhas taught international business and managerial skills courses at Northern Kentucky University and has published several articles related to small business development in the Middle East.
He is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Law where he was a senior book review editor at the University of Cincinnati Human Rights Quarterly, a member of the Executive Board of the University of Cincinnati Moot Court Board, and a member of the Order of Barristers. He received a master of organizational behavior from Brigham Young University and a B.S. summa cum laude, in management and international studies from Northern Kentucky University.
Mr. Nahhas is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Toledo, Ohio State, Michigan State and the American Bar Associations. He is a past recipient of the 20 Under 40 Leadership Award.
Joseph R. Durham joined Eastman & Smith Ltd. practicing in the Firm's Columbus location. His practice focuses on environmental law, public law and litigation. From 1991 through July, 2002, Mr. Durham was employed as an assistant prosecuting attorney with the Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney's Office in Columbus, Ohio and a special assistant United States attorney for the Southern District of Ohio. He has advised, counseled and litigated cases for district boards of health, the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, the Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio, the Franklin County Emergency Management Agency and prosecuted criminal cases investigated by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, and the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
Mr. Durham is a graduate of Lewis and Clark's Northwestern School of Law in Portland, Oregon, where he received a J.D. and Certificate in Natural Resources and Environmental Law.
