A Practical Approach to Labor and Employment Law Issues

Grand Plaza Hotel (formerly the Crowne Plaza), 444 N. Summit St., Toledo, Ohio
2/7/12

In this age of increasing statutory and regulatory demands, it is becoming more difficult for an employer to effectively manage its workforce and mind the bottom line. Join us for a seminar focused on developing proactive solutions for handling day to day employment and labor issues to reduce the risk of litigation, yet still allow employers to effectively run their business.

The seminar will include advanced discussions of managing employee leaves of absence to insure compliance with the ADA, FMLA, and applicable state law, new developments with the National Labor Relations Board that will effect both union and non-union employers, and compliance with immigration laws and regulations.

This seminar will also feature a series of small group interactive workshops in which attendees will analyze real life scenarios and discuss how to work through various interactions with employees while remaining in compliance with applicable law.

Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. The seminar begins at 9:00 a.m. and lasts until 3:00 p.m. There is a $10 cost for registration and lunch.

Although you will be given an opportunity to ask questions during the seminar, you are encouraged to submit questions in advance of the seminar to events@eastmansmith.com so we can tailor our presentation to meet your needs. Please contact Andrea Kenney at events@eastmansmith.com (or 419-247-1616) by February 1, 2012, to register.
