Profile

Securing payment from contractual obligations is the focus of life-long Central Ohio resident Elizabeth I. Sams’ practice.

Ms. Sams is a member of Eastman & Smith who has represented clients in a number of industries including manufacturing, financial, construction, retail, health care and services.  Her practice encompasses:

  • commercial litigation;
  • creditors’ rights and remedies;
  • debt collection;
  • construction law;
  • probate litigation;
  • alternative dispute resolution; and
  • landlord/tenant law.

While earning her law degree from The Ohio State University, Ms. Sams interned with the Franklin County and Delaware County Prosecutors’ Offices.  She also was the chief managing editor of The Ohio State Journal on Dispute Resolution. Her commitment to professional development is further evidenced by her graduation from the Ohio State Bar Association Leadership Academy in 2019.

Ms. Sams resides in Gahanna with her husband, Jacob, and their daughter. When not practicing law, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

  • First Bank of Ohio v. Mark A. Vidal, Case No. 24AP00676, Ohio Tenth District Court of Appeals. Successfully represented bank in matter involving collection on a defaulted loan.
  • Kendra McCormick et al. v. Luke Collison Drywall & Construction LLC et al., Case No. 2020CV00001, Fairfield County Common Pleas Court. Successfully defended homebuilder on multiple claims and obtained judgment on counterclaim for unpaid balance owed.
  • Leveck Commercial Construction and Development, LLC v. Bedrock Earthworks, LLC, Case No. 2021CV000028, Franklin County Common Pleas Court. Successfully defended subcontractor on multiple claims and obtained judgment on counterclaim for unpaid balance owed.
