Eastman & Smith Remembers Ronald J. Tice

12/7/23

The attorneys and staff of Eastman & Smith are saddened to announce the passing of our friend and colleague, Ronald J. Tice, who passed away on November 24.  Mr. Tice served as the principal legal advisor for numerous industrial and manufacturing businesses in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan and represented clients in England, France, Germany and Canada with respect to their U.S. business interests.  Prior to joining Eastman & Smith, Mr. Tice was in private practice and served in a variety of legal positions with Marathon Oil Company.

“He was an amazing lawyer and a wonderful human being,” said managing partner Fadi V. Nahhas.  “As a lawyer, Ron cared deeply about his clients.  He understood that a successful lawyer is a lawyer who helps their clients succeed.  He was practical, diligent, caring and just an outstanding draftsman.  And God help you if you were on the other side of him!  He had a distinguished career at Marathon which took him to many cities around the United States and the world before joining Eastman & Smith where he tirelessly served the Firm and his clients, eventually serving as the Firm’s managing partner during the Great Recession.”

The Firm extends their condolences to Mr. Tice’s family and friends.  His obituary and memorial arrangements can be viewed on Coyle Funeral Home's web site.
