Chappelear Joins Eastman & Smith

Stephen E. Chappelear has joined Eastman & Smith as an of counsel attorney in our Columbus office.  Mr. Chappelear has more than 40 years of experience handling complex litigation and literally wrote the book (five of them) on the subject of Franklin County jury trials.  He has represented clients in legal issues ranging from breach of contract to unfair competition.  Recent cases have involved fraud claims against a financial institution, arbitration award for defective construction, right to real property and a legal malpractice claim.  Best Lawyers in America, Martindale-Hubbell and Columbus CEO have rated Mr. Chappelear highly in their publications.

A graduate of The Ohio State University, Mr. Chappelear is involved with alumni groups.  He also is an active member of professional associations, including both the American and Columbus bar associations (former president of the latter).  Mr. Chappelear and his wife Sharon reside in Pataskala.
