Hales Joins Goldberg as Trustee of the Toledo Bar Association

Janet E. Hales, an Eastman & Smith Ltd. of counsel attorney, has been elected to the Toledo Bar Association's Board of Directors. Ms. Hales has served the Bar Association in other ways including committee work with the Employment and Labor, Grievance, Grievance Investigation and Roundtable Committees as well as service to the Pro Bono Advisory Board. She joins fellow Eastman & Smith Ltd. member, Stu Goldberg, who is serving a second consecutive term on the Toledo Bar Association Board of Directors. He also serves as chairman of the member services group.

The Bar Association's mission is to assist its members in their endeavors both with the community as a whole and the legal community. Comprised of nearly 1800 members, the Bar Association offers services such as continuing legal education seminars and pro bono assistance.

Ms. Hales has practiced in the federal courts for a number of years. She has litigated a wide variety of cases in trial and appellate courts, including employment, contract, insurance coverage, tax appeals and civil rights cases. In addition, Ms. Hales has represented clients before administrative agencies as well and has substantial experience in asbestos defense as national discovery counsel for a large manufacturing client with multiple product lines.

Mr. Goldberg concentrates his practice in the areas of product liability, personal injury, commercial litigation, insurance coverage, health care litigation and employment litigation. He has represented large and small manufacturers, nursing homes, physicians, trucking companies, insurance companies, auto service centers, individuals, employers and employees in a wide variety of disputes.
