Eastman Sponsors BLSA Scholarship Banquet
On April 20, Eastman & Smith Ltd. once again sponsored the Torrence R. Greene Memorial Scholarship Banquet for the University of Toledo Black Law Student Association (BLSA). The banquet was attended by law students, law faculty and administration, and local attorneys and community leaders. Over a dozen Eastman & Smith attorneys attended the event. The keynote speaker was Judith Caliman, who is Senior Counsel in the Office of General Counsel of Chrysler Group, LLC. Ms. Caliman spoke eloquently and reminded students and attorneys alike not to forget their own personal stories and to focus on hard work and commitment, family and identity.
Eastman & Smith attorney Heidi N. Hartman has worked hard to foster strong relationships at the College of Law, and particularly with BLSA. BLSA presented Eastman & Smith with a gift of appreciation for the Firm's support, and Ms. Hartman accepted the gift, telling the assemblage that Eastman & Smith proudly supports diversity in the legal profession and encourages law students to help increase diversity in Toledo's legal community by making their careers here.
