WCEDC Holds Twentieth Annual Meeting

The Wood County Economic Development Commission held its twentieth annual meeting at the end of March. The meeting included the installation of new officers and announcement of the Corporate Citizen of the Year recipient. This year, the honor went to contracting company Rudolph/Libbe. Past winners have included CSX Transportation, Wood County Hospital, Keystone Foods Equity Group, First Solar, Inc., Principle Business Enterprises, Jones Hamilton Co. and Owens Illinois.

WCEDC is a public/private organization whose goal is to assist in the creation of jobs and private sector investment. During its twenty years, WCEDC has been involved in projects ranging from new businesses locating to the county, such as Bass Pro, to the creation of a new CXS intermodal facility to the construction of new facilities by Walgreens, FedEx and Owens Illinois.
