Remembrance: Morty Bobowick

Morty Bobowick, of counsel, passed away Friday, July 25. He was part of Eastman & Smith for nearly 50 years. Mr. Bobowick practiced in the areas of wealth preservation, estate planning and business entities. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa at Brooklyn College, where he graduated magna cum laude in 1962. Mr. Bobowick then graduated from Harvard Law School cum laude in 1965. Following graduation from law school, he worked for one year with the Civil Aeronautics Board in Washington, D.C. and then clerked for the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit for over two years.

Mr. Bobowick was a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Toledo Bar Association, American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and a member emeritus of the Board of Governors of the Ohio State Bar Association - Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law Section. Mr. Bobowick was also a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the Probate Law Journal of Ohio.

David W. Nunn, managing partner of Eastman & Smith, stated "Morty was a trusted advisor to a wide array of clients. More importantly, he was a wonderful person filled with optimism, joy, kindness and compassion for others. He is an important part of the Eastman & Smith legacy which we have celebrated this year, and he will be truly missed."
