Jacobs and Tarini Recertified as Specialists

Firm members Frank D. Jacobs and Mimi Tarini were recertified by the Ohio State Bar Association as specialists in Estate Planning, Trusts and Probate Law. Renewal is required every five years. In Ohio, 140 attorneys have this certification (10 are located in Lucas County). There are at least 1,750 attorneys in the County.

In order to be eligible for certification, attorneys must meet a number of requirements such as:

Mr. Jacobs is part of the Firm's Wealth Preservation Section. His practice emphasizes estate planning, general tax planning, charitable planned giving, business structuring, business succession planning, and qualified retirement plans. Mr. Jacobs has been a speaker at numerous business and professional society meetings covering tax, business, charitable gifting, and estate planning subjects and has written various articles in these areas. In addition, he was an adjunct professor in the College of Law, University of Toledo, in tax subjects. Since 1988 he has been included in the publication of The Best Lawyers in America. In 1991, he was elected a Fellow in The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.

Ms. Tarini also is part of the Wealth Preservation Section. She administers the Firm's probate and estate practice, concentrating in the representation of trustees, preparation of fiduciary tax returns and estate planning. Her professional experience includes fiduciary administration in Columbus, Ohio and as senior trust officer in the personal trust department of Fifth Third Bank of Northwest Ohio. She is licensed to practice law in Florida as well as Ohio.
