Pawlicki and Sponseller Receive Awards

Sarah E. Pawlicki and Carrie L. Sponseller, members of Eastman & Smith Ltd., were each honored with a 20 Under 40 award on Thursday, September 27. The 20 Under 40 program recognizes persons under the age of 40 who have "distinguished themselves in their careers and/or as a volunteer in the community." Eighty-two people in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan were nominated.

Ms. Pawlicki is a member of the American Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association and Toledo Bar Association, where she sits on the Labor & Employment and Bar Admissions committees. Ms. Pawlicki is a past president of The Exchange Club of Toledo and is a member of the Toledo Area Human Resources Association and Northwest Ohio Self-Insured Association. She represents employers in employment discrimination and workers' compensation matters before administrative agencies, including the OCRC, EEOC and the Industrial Commission of Ohio. Ms. Pawlicki's experience also includes representing employers in employment litigation in federal and Ohio courts.

Ms. Sponseller is a member of the Ohio State and Toledo Bar Associations. She works with several non-profit organizations, including Adelante, the Latino Resource Center and the United Way. Last year Ms. Sponseller received the Ohio State Bar Foundation's District Community Service Award for Attorneys 40 and Under for District Four. Concentrating her practice in the areas of employment discrimination, workers' compensation and related litigation, Ms. Sponseller's experience includes representing employers in administrative agencies, as well as in Ohio and federal courts.
