On April 1, 2020 the Families First Coronavirus Response Act became effective requiring employers of 500 or fewer employees to provide emergency paid sick leave and expanded FMLA leave. Also on April 1, 2020, the Department of Labor issued regulations providing employers additional guidance on the FFCRA.
