The Department of Labor is devoting more staff to conducting frequent and more extensive audits. Are you prepared?
Things as “simple” as wage and hour audits can spiral into COBRA audits, audits of affirmative action plans, audits of health and welfare issues, and more. Back pay, double damages and civil money penalties are all on the table as the DOL more aggressively responds to employee complaints, targets specific industries and devotes resources to randomly evaluating employer compliance with the law.
