Profile
“I bring a practical, business-informed perspective to issues confronting clients.”
Previous Industry and Legal Experience
Before entering the legal profession, J. Connor Dunn worked in business development for equipment and beverage companies. That experience, combined with his work in both a small-town general practice law firm and a firm focused on labor and Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) matters, gives him an appreciation for the operational demands, financial considerations and competing priorities employers encounter.
Areas of Practice
As an associate in Eastman & Smith’s Labor & Employment and Workers’ Compensation Practice Groups, Mr. Dunn advises and represents employers in a range of workplace matters, including labor and contract disputes, employment compliance, litigation and arbitration. He approaches each matter by considering not only the legal issues involved, but also the client’s objectives and the practical consequences of each available course of action.
Education
Mr. Dunn earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Toledo College of Law, where he served as a symposium editor for the University of Toledo Law Review and vice president of the Sports Law Association. He holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Cincinnati.
Hobbies and Interests
Outside the office, Mr. Dunn enjoys football and baseball, both of which he played in high school and continues to follow closely. He also serves as a coach for the University of Toledo in the Tulane International Baseball Arbitration Competition, combining his interest in the game with his legal experience and advocacy skills.
