Eastman & Smith launches lobbying business EastmanSmith Advocacy Group, Ltd.
Eastman & Smith Ltd., is pleased to announce the formation of EastmanSmith Advocacy Group, which will be located on Capitol Square in Columbus, Ohio. According to David W. Nunn, chair of the Executive Committee, "EastmanSmith Advocacy Group will provide access to information on proposed laws and legislation that could affect their clients." EastmanSmith Advocacy Group does not engage in the practice of law, and focuses solely on lobbying. It is a separate entity from Eastman & Smith Ltd.
The principals of EastmanSmith Advocacy Group are Brian Barger and Brad Barger. Together, they bring over twenty years' experience advising clients on legislative matters. Brad most recently was deputy legislative director for Ohio Governor John Kasich. He has a decade of experience working directly with the Ohio General Assembly and numerous agencies, boards and commissions. Brian has been involved in lobbying as well as in drafting legislation and administrative rules pertaining to the mining industry. As an attorney, environmental, land use, natural resources, regulatory and zoning are areas of law in which Brian practices. Prior work experience includes employment by companies in the mining and gas industries.
