Robert J. Gilmer, Jr. concentrates his practice in the areas of employment, commercial and professional liability litigation.  He is a senior trial attorney at Eastman & Smith.

Following graduation from law school in 1975, Mr. Gilmer worked as a trial attorney for the Office of the Lucas County, Ohio, Prosecuting Attorney from 1976 through 1980. Since joining Eastman & Smith in 1980, Mr. Gilmer has represented clients in complex litigation in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies in matters involving employment discrimination, breach of contract, housing discrimination claims, claims of professional negligence, CERCLA cost recovery and toxic tort litigation. He also serves as general counsel for Eastman & Smith.

Mr. Gilmer's community service includes having served as an acting judge in the Perrysburg, Ohio, Municipal Court.
