The alphabet soup of employment law – ADA, EEOC, FLSA, FMLA – can be daunting.  Anne K. Schmidlin works with businesses to meet their needs complying with these and other laws.

Ms. Schmidlin assists clients with their legal needs including noncompete agreements, severance packages, wage and hour matters, employment handbooks and employment discrimination charges.  Her practice involves representing employers before the EEOC and other administrative agencies.  However, Ms. Schmidlin realizes the value that proactive, preventative counseling provides to her clients’ busy schedules, their work culture and the bottom line.  Training and counseling employers on a variety of employment law matters is a part of Ms. Schmidlin’s practice.

Additionally, Ms. Schmidlin works in the Firm’s immigration practice, where she assists employers in navigating the legal requirements of hiring foreign nationals. She also assists foreign nationals and their families with obtaining and maintaining legal status in the United States.

As a member of Eastman & Smith, Ms. Schmidlin participates in the Firm's management and initiatives.  Currently she is chair of the affinity group Women of Eastman & Smith.

Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Schmidlin practiced labor and employment law at a boutique firm in Chicago, where she counseled management and high-level executives on a variety of employment matters. 

Ms. Schmidlin’s personal interests include running, traveling and spending time with family. Along with her husband and their two children, Ms. Schmidlin resides in Perrysburg.
